Some background on this site: I have an (unhealthy) obsession with bracketology and the math behind the NCAA Tournament. Many years ago I came up with a formula to predict the winner of a matchup between two teams based solely on their seeds. For example, my formula has the #2 seed beating the #15 seed 93.7% of the time, which is pretty close to the historical 93.6% over the tournament's history (last time I checked)

Using my formula, I generated 150,000 brackets which I track against the public's entries on yahoo.com and ESPN.com. What I have found is that my brackets tend to have better odds at winning (or placing in the top 1%) than most people who do the picks on their own. As such, I have encouraged people to grab random brackets from this site and use them as their "additional" entries on ESPN and Yahoo (who both allow you to submit multilple brackets). If I had 15,000 people who would each pick 10 of these brackets to submit, there would likely be at least one of those that would win one of the free prizes given away by ESPN/Yahoo. The question for you is, would you rather have a 1 in 10 million chance at a prize, or a one in 15,000 chance? It seems like a no-brainer to me.

During the tournament I do my best to update the scoring of my brackets as results come in and you can track how my brackets are doing. Feel free to follow along and see for yourself. If you want to reach me to learn more or discuss, you can email bracketaddict at gmail.com.
